History
Chasing Rabbits was developed as a non-traditional monologue work by Mark Fletcher late in 1998. Canadian theatre company Script Lab selected it for a public reading in Toronto in January 1999.

In April 1999 Australian actor Peter Hardy was engaged for the role of Nick Walsh.
After six weeks of rehearsal and dramaturgy the play, co-directed by the actor and writer, had its first performance at the short Monofeast Festival at the now-defunct Universal Theatre in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia in June 1999.

It was submitted and accepted into the Off-Broadway Strawberry One Act Play Festival at the Riant Theatre in Tribeca, New York City, where it took out second place.

This production then toured to the Dublin Fringe Festival in October 1999.
A new scene was added before the production played Fringe Festivals in Adelaide (April 2000), then Thunder Bay Ontario, Minneapolis (July 2000), London, Ontario (August 2000), San Francisco (September 2000), and Perth, Western Australia (February 2001).

In December 2000 the Melbourne return season at Chapel Off Chapel Theatre saw the production receive excellent notices.

Shooting of the film production directed by Sion Michel wrapped in March 2001 and the film was previewed on 18th June at the Classic Cinema in Elsternwick, Melbourne.
